Love Is Blind season 8 has been announced, but there is already a flaw regarding the season's credibility, proving that producers dropped the ball. Love Is Blind season 7 aired from early to late October 2024, and featured a cast of 15 men and 15 women who were hoping to find love in the pods. Six couples total left the pods engaged, but only five of those couples were featured in the vacation segment and beyond due to budget constraints on the show.

Love Is Blind originally premiered in February 2020, and roughly two seasons a year have taken place since then. Out of all the couples who exited the pods together, 11 couples have formed lasting relationships beyond the show, and there is even one Love Is Blind baby. The network has also expanded to include global editions of the hit Netflix spinoff. Love Is Blind: UK, Love Is Blind: Brazil, Love Is Blind: Habibi, Love Is Blind: Mexico, Love Is Blind: Japan, and Love Is Blind: Sweden are all iterations of the original U.S. version now.

It's Coming Off A Poorly-Received Season 7

At Netflix's Love Is Blind season 7 reunion, several Love Is Blind season 8 cast members, Alex, Brittany, and Joey, were in attendance, and the announcement was made that season 8 would drop on Valentine's Day 2025. The location was designated as Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Season 7 was not well-received by viewers after several scandals broke.
The first of which being that Brittney Wisniewski and Leo Braudy would not join the other engaged couples on the vacation.
The second scandal was the fact that Tyler Francis lied and was hiding the fact that he had three children whom he was a present father to. The third issue that plagued the season's reception and credibility was Stephen Richardson's sext messaging debacle. Both Tyler and Stephen were not positive casting choices for the show. Their red flags were missed by production and caused season 7 to lose a lot of favorability.

Love Is Blind Chose The Wrong City For Season 8
Minneapolis Is Too Small
The major flaw in Love is Blind season 8 is the city they chose to host it in. Minneapolis is too small of a city to host such a show, since the odds of the cast knowing or knowing of each other is high. When season 8 cast member Alex was interviewed by show host Vanessa Lachey, he spoke to this fact. Vanessa asked Alex what about living in Minneapolis made him struggle with finding "the one." His response underscores that a bigger city would have been better for the location.
"It's such a small community, it's not a major city, but it's also not a small town, so you kind of see the same people over and over, and it's a small bar scene."

Previously, Love Is Blind visited locations like Charlottesville, North Carolina, Seattle, Washington, and Chicago, Illinois. Minneapolis is the smallest city the show has chosen, and it has the potential to spoil the season if there are any people that know each other.

Casting Choices Could Be A Problem

Aside from the Love Is Blind season 8 cast encountering a pod dating pool of people they have knowledge of, other issues could arise. Love Is Blind has notoriously failed at vetting the cast members, so ones with shady pasts, bad characters, or secret partners could also appear. Moreover, the show needs to be structured to let all the engaged couples, be it more than five, take part in the whole experience. Otherwise, the season will be at a deficit. If any of these issues take place, it will be the producers' fault because they are orchestrating the show.
Love Is Blind season 8 will premiere on February 14, 2025, on Netflix.
